If the Follow-Me Printer is unreachable—such as when the printer is under maintenance, a VPN is active, or you accidentally send a print job from home—the printer queue will automatically pause. However, it will not resume on its own. To proceed with printing, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Apple menu in the upper left corner of the screen.  Image Placeholder
  2. Choose "System Settings"
  3. On the left side, scroll to the bottom and select "Printers & Scanners"Image Placeholder
  4. Note that under "Printers," the Follow-Me Printer has an orange dot followed by "Paused."  This means the queue is paused and the print jobs are still held on your computer.
  5. Click on the Follow-Me Printer.Image Placeholder
  6. Click on "Printer Queue" button.Image Placeholder
  7. You will notice the printer name is followed by the word 'Paused,' and a play icon (a triangle) appears in the upper-right corner of the window. Click the play icon to unpause the printer queue. Once unpaused, the queue will release the print jobs to the copier. If you no longer need any of the queued print jobs, you can cancel them by clicking the 'x' button next to the respective job.
  8. When you are ready, press the play symbol to unpause the queue.
  9. The print jobs will disappear from the list.
  10. You can now release your prints at an copier.
